Mr. Perry and those who think like him know what they want to believe, and their response to anyone who contradicts them is to start a witch hunt.

What is ALEC? Corporations controlling conservative government

ALEC is not a lobby; it is not a front group. It is much more powerful than that. Through ALEC, behind closed doors, corporations hand state legislators the changes to the law they desire that directly benefit their bottom line.

Along with legislators, corporations have membership in ALEC. Corporations sit on all nine ALEC task forces and vote with legislators to approve “model” bills. They have their own corporate governing board which meets jointly with the legislative board. (ALEC says that corporations do not vote on the board.) They fund almost all of ALEC’s operations. Participating legislators, overwhelmingly conservative Republicans, then bring those proposals home and introduce them in statehouses across the land as their own brilliant ideas and important public policy innovations—without disclosing that corporations crafted and voted on the bills.

ALEC boasts that it has over 1,000 of these bills introduced by legislative members every year, with one in every five of them enacted into law. ALEC describes itself as a “unique,” “unparalleled” and “unmatched” organization. It might be right. I cannot support some greedy ass bitch company that wastes so much of my time over a potential tax that would help california settle its republican budget gap.

A McDonald’s boycott?

McDonalds charged me $0.40 to add ONIONS to my sandwich.
They didn’t give me a bonus for telling them to leave off the lettuce.

It looks like their way of saying that you better not customize your order, or you’ll pay a premium.

Those of you who know me, know that I love mcdonalds hamburgers.
But I’m just about boycotting the place now.

UPDATE: I’m now boycotting a specific McDonalds.
This $0.40 fee for a few onions is not company-wide.

Home Made Energy claims:

“HomeMadeEnergy.org will teach you everything you need to have your own solar or wind power system for $200 or even less.”

I would like more information about this.
Their webpage is set up like the “As seen on TV” infomercial sites.

If it is real, it’d seem to make a perfect christmas gift for homeowners everywhere.

Ah well, I found it connected to a site off of world net daily (far right craziness). Figures they would be ok advertising this scam to their unsuspecting visitors.

I’ve noticed that my local electronics store carries wind generators and solar generators now.

No Olympics for US – conservatives thrilled

Seemed many conservatives are so anxious for Obama to lose – at anything – they will try to count the denial by the Olympic committee as a win for themselves, even cheering at the news.

And DeMint, Aaron Schock going to Honduras to advertise their support of a position in contrast to that of the government seems a bit on the moronic side.

Here’s video of a conservative group’s happiness after Chicago, USA lost out on the Olympic bid for 2016.
