Documents show who the major oil speculators in the gas price run of 2008

Hedge Funds, Banks, Oil Producers (such as the Kochs)

This is who’s driving up the price of gas, unrelated to supply and demand.

If you drive 10,000 miles per year, gas at $4 (speculation driven) instead of $2 (supply and demand), your cost goes from
$1,000 to $2,000.

This unrepresented Tax on every driver in the country is also dis-proportionally affects our poor.

The concept of good and evil is not one I typically subscribe to.
But these oil companies are evil.

This should make your blood boil

Republican governors are trying to rig the electoral college in their states ahead of the 2012 election.

The GOP controls both houses of the state Legislature plus the governor’s mansion—the so-called “redistricting trifecta”—in Pennsylvania. Congressional district maps are adjusted after every census, and the last one just finished up. That means Pennsylvania Republicans get to draw the boundaries of the state’s congressional districts without any input from Democrats. Some of the early maps have leaked to the press, and Democrats expect that the Pennsylvania congressional map for the 2012 elections will have 12 safe GOP seats compared to just 6 safe Democratic seats.

Look around the major leagues.
There’s exciting pitching everywhere.

The question is, did the pitching get that much better, or is the reduction in PED’s making pitchers look better?

SF Giants
Lincecum, Cain, Bumgardner, Sanchez and Surkamp.
Granted Surkamp is unproven at the MLB level, but there’s not an easy game in that rotation

Halladay, Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, Roy Oswalt, Vince Worley (11-2)

Cahill, Brett Anderson, Gio Gonzales, McCarthy

Zimmerman and Strasburg

Felix Hernandez, Pineda

Verlander, Scherzer

Tampa Rays
Price, Shields, Hellickson, Neimann, Davis, Matt Moore

Carpenter, Garcia, Wainwright, Shelby

Do conservatives have a single valid complaint about President Obama?

Help me out if you think you have heard a valid complaint.

“he’s socialist” – plainly bullshit

“I don’t like his spending” – its crap. Obama’s ONLY legislation that adds to the deficit is the stimulus – which is less than 1/3 the cost of the bush tax cuts by themselves. Conservatives have been trying to blame President Obama for the republican spending from 2001-2006. Well guess what Cons? We’re STILL paying for that crap every damned year.

“He raised my income taxes” – bullshit. Factually incorrect bullshit.

“he’s a communist” – glen beckian bullcrap

“he’s a terrorist” – one of my former friends made this idiotic comment. President Obama’s got Al Qaeda on the ropes and took out Osama Bin Laden. Sit and spin, Bitch.

“Health Reform is socialism” – these crack addicts AVOID the facts. If you remove the ideology from the equation and simply look at the economic impact, health reform is a huge win. For everybody but big insurance. And much of health reform is CONSERVATIVE IDEAS. That mandate conservatives hate so much? conservative idea.

“Death panels” – if you believe anything betsy mccaughey and sarah palin say, you’re brain dead. This particular lie won politifact’s first “Lie of the Year award”.

What else do cons claim to not like?
Oh, the wars.

Bush took us into Iraq for 8 years, but NOW conservatives are itching to get out – it gives them a reason to attack the president over BUSH’s war. Take some responsibility cons, you pathetic weasels. Same with Afghanistan.

Libya cost 1/1000th of Iraq’s cost and ZERO americans died.
These two things are not even remotely comparable, except through the result (a dictator removed from power)

“he’s continued bush policies” – bullcrap. bush wanted health reform? news to .. everyone. bush wanted financial reform? why didn’t he do it then? bush wanted the stimulus? he could have tried, but his stimulus packages were always weak. Bush would have invaded Libya and we’d be there another 10 years.

Bring it.
What is a valid complaint against this president, you pathetic conservative turds.

Right-Wing media crying wolf, again

They always do this.
Every election.

How are fox “news” viewers so stupid?

In advance of a special election in New York’s Ninth Congressional District, Fox News and National Review Online are raising the specter of voter fraud in case a Democrat wins the seat. In fact, the evidence they are citing has been debunked, and right-wing media regularly cry voter fraud when elections are close.

More right-wing propaganda than usual?

Seems like it.
And the reason for that may be summed up by the following quote.

“Obama is on the ropes; why do we appear ready to hand him a win?”

senior House Republican aide

That is in reference to Obama’s proposed jobs plan – again republicans don’t care about the country.
Republicans think they are winning the message war.
And they might be.

America would have to be really fucking stupid to vote for republicans.
consider the following timeline.

2008: huge recession, bush bank bailouts, bush TARP, bush auto loans
2009: Obama took office, stimulus
2010: Every jobs legislation proposed is blocked by senate republicans, who also block a bill that would help to end outsourcing, republicans elected on promises they would help the economy (jobs)
2011: No jobs legislation proposed by republicans, their proposals CUT jobs.
2012: republicans win?

how fucking dumb.
if I hear that you are a republican, I’m going to smack you upside the head for your stupidity.

I can’t have any respect for someone that votes against their own interests, and everyone they know, based on republican lies. Take the time to educate yourself, morons.

What does the United States get for our billions in giveaways to big Oil?

Aside from their propaganda campaigns, of course.

From 2005 to 2010, Exxon, BP, Chevron, and Shell dumped 11,200 U.S. employees while raking in $546 billion in profits.

While we gave them approximate 40 billion (for being big oil), they dumped US employees and made over half a trillion dollars.

IMPORTANT: Reflections of a GOP Operative Who Left The Cult

“To those millions of Americans who have finally begun paying attention to politics and watched with exasperation the tragicomedy of the debt ceiling extension, it may have come as a shock that the Republican Party is so full of lunatics.”

“But the crackpot outliers of two decades ago have become the vital center today: Steve King, Michele Bachman (now a leading presidential candidate as well), Paul Broun, Patrick McHenry, Virginia Foxx, Louie Gohmert, Allen West. The Congressional directory now reads like a casebook of lunacy.”

“It was this cast of characters and the pernicious ideas they represent that impelled me to end a nearly 30-year career as a professional staff member on Capitol Hill. A couple of months ago, I retired; but I could see as early as last November that the Republican Party would use the debt limit vote, an otherwise routine legislative procedure that has been used 87 times since the end of World War II, in order to concoct an entirely artificial fiscal crisis. Then, they would use that fiscal crisis to get what they wanted, by literally holding the US and global economies as hostages.”
